This plug-in for FileMaker Pro allows you to set the FileMaker default printer programmatically. This means, you can write FileMaker scripts and print pages to different printers - the user does not have to select the various printers manually.
If you are using FileMaker 7.0 or better, you can also change paper size (e.g. Letter, Legal, B5 etc.), paper orientation (portrait or lanscape) and - if supported by your printer - paper source with this plug-in.
There are many change-printer plug-ins for FileMaker but most of them only work reliable with FileMaker 5.0 to 6.0. Most available plug-ins do not work reliably with FileMaker 7.0 to 10.0 - but this plug-in does, because schubec uses another approach than competitors.
Fax functions
If you own the AVM Fritz!Card and installed Fritz!Fax on your PC, you can also send fax messages with this plug-in.
(Fritz!Card and Fritz!Fax are very popular products in Germany.)
Compatibility with MS Windows Vista has not been tested yet.
There are no plans for a MacOS version of this plug-in.
Developer license
Our developer license allows the developer (a company or individual) to ship our plug-in with FileMaker Runtimes or FileMaker Pro bundled with the developer's application. It is not limited to a specific site or a specific application. If you purchase a developer license you are allowed to distribute the plug-in with every one of your applications without extra fees.
